Our Fees

How We Receive Compensation:

Many financial planners and advisors are paid by selling investment products and collecting commissions. We are "fee-only" financial advisors. We are not paid by commissions and we do not sell investment products. We want to provide you with honest and objective advice while managing your assets. Our incentive is to always work in your best interest by helping you increase your net worth and achieve your overall investment objectives.

The benefits of fee-only investment management:

    • No pressure to buy and sell investments

    • Personal, ongoing relationship with your advisor

    • Full transparency with no hidden fees

    • You and your advisor have the same goal: the achievement of your objectives

Our firm offers advisory services in the areas of personal and business planning and asset
management. The specific manner in which fees are charged by EFI is established in a client’s written Agreement with EFI and the service option selected.

1) Asset Management Program: Clients who enter into an agreement with EFI for the Asset Management Program will be provided asset management and offered financial planning services. Clients who opt for this program will authorize the deduction of fees directly from their managed accounts, payable in arrears, based upon the asset value on the last day of the previous month as 1/12th of client’s annual fees.

Asset Management Program Fee Schedule*:

$100,000 to $149,999......................... 1.50%

$150,000 to $499,999......................... 1.00%

$500,000 to $999,999........................... .85%

$1,000,000 to $1,999,999...................... .75%

$2,000,000 and above........................... .70%

*Fees may be negotiated per advisor discretion

2) Financial Planning Agreement: For hourly planning services on a limited scope of work, clients are billed $150.00 per hour and will receive an invoice after the completion of the financial planning services. Partial hours will be billed pro-rata in 15 minute increments. Services provided may include retirement planning, investment portfolio assessment and risk tolerance assessment and other general financial planning topics depending on the needs and concerns of the client. EFI advisors will provide investment advice on a nondiscretionary basis.

Termination of Agreement

Should either the client or Elderado Financial wish to cancel either the Asset Management or Financial Planning Agreement, the agreement may be cancelled at any time with written notice. If the client cancels the Agreement after EFI has begun the services requested, the client will be charged for the services completed. Should the client terminate the Agreement within five business days after signing, no charges or penalties will be assessed. For either service option, Clients are billed after services are rendered so refunds of prepaid services are not applicable.

For clients in the Asset Management Program, the client will be responsible for any fees or charges incurred by client from thir parties as a result of maintaining managed accounts or for any securities transactions executed. Managed accounts terminated during a calendar month may be charged a prorated fee.

Our Values

Vision

We envision a society where people will release their grip from the false security of wealth and rightfully place God at the center and as the provider of all things.  As individuals and families practice good stewardship with what He has entrusted to them, they will have the resources to be generous and glorify God. As they honor God with discipline and obedience, families will be healed, communities will come together and our nation will be healed.

Mission

By refocusing financial planning on Christ and on Biblical values, our mission is to walk along side of clients to seek Godly wisdom and to help our clients be better stewards of what God has given them.  By understanding the unique needs of each family and how their needs change through the stages of life, we will work with them to apply Biblical wisdom to real life in America.

Core Financial Planner Values

A financial planner should have some basic values. They should be honest and straightforward. They should have strong moral and ethical values, using good judgment to apply the highest of integrity to every decision. They should offer complete transparency when it comes to operations and compensation. They should be caring, respectful, and empathetic. They should be reliable, dependable, and the kind of person who calls you back promptly. Their service team should act the same way. On every occasion they should act in the client's best interest.

We strive to apply these core values, but because of our unique role in walking along side of clients in stewardship, we feel we have a special calling to go over and beyond these responsibilities.

Our commitment as God Centered Advisors

As a Christian financial planner, we commit to the following:·

  • We will seek to be well informed and up to date on the world's economic and financial system.
  • We will filter these findings through the truth of the Bible
  • We will ask for and seek Godly wisdom
  • We will rely on God and the truth of scripture.
  • We will strive to do what is best for the client and their family now and in light of eternity.
  • God will be welcome and wanted in our discussions.

Philosophy

Success will not be measured by assets under management or fees, but by our own obedience, contentment, generosity and that of our clients.

Our Process

How We Work With Our Clients

We can help you analyze your financial situation and assist with determining the best course of action for you.

Assess Your Needs

First, we will identify your investment objectives by asking you about your financial goals. We will explore important concerns such as your risk tolerance, your tax situation, your investment time horizon, and whether or not you want to take current income from your portfolio. We help you to determine your goals by:

  • Help you clarify how to achieve God's plan for you and your family

  • Help you sort out your priorities and your desired goals

  • Help you become focused on the top of the goal list

  • Help you determine your strengths, opportunities and avoid dangers

 Establish A Plan

Next, we will help you develop a financial plan designed to achieve your goals. This will include your investment plan with expected investment returns, your ideal asset mix between stocks and bonds and the general types of securities that are suitable for you. Other assets such as investment properties, pension plans or a 401k will be factored into your plan so that you have a comprehensive view of your financial life. We help you develop a personalized path to attain your goals by identifying your important core values and following bibical principles.

Implement The Plan

We will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your investment portfolio, choosing individual securities or mutual funds that meet your objectives and executing trades on your behalf.

Monitor Your Investments

We will watch your portfolio and make adjustments as necessary. In addition to your regular investment account statements, you will also receive periodic updates to tell you how you are doing. We measure and monitor your success along the path by providing answers to:

  • How am I doing?

  • Am I staying true to my Christian financial principles?

  • Are my investments good and ethical choices?

  • Will I have a comfortable retirement?

  • Is my future secure?

  • Will my children's inheritance be safe?

Defining Your Objectives

The following factors influence the way your investment portfolio is managed:

Risk Tolerance

Risk and return usually go hand in hand. The more you hope to earn, the more risk you must be willing to take.

Time Horizon

How long you plan to leave the money invested will determine your investment strategy. Generally, a long-term strategy is more flexible and may result in more consistent returns.

Income Needs

We will need to know if you plan to draw income from the portfolio.

Tax Situation

We will want to know your tax situation so the tax consequences of transactions can be minimized wherever possible.

Personal Preferences

If you would like to place any restrictions on investments based on your Christian values, such as not supporting tobacco, alcohol, or any other concerns, please be sure let us know.

Our Difference

In our complex investment world there are so many choices to invest your money and many types of investment advisors to choose from. How do you know which direction to take? Stock brokers from large investment firms or advisors from smaller firms; brokers that make their money selling you investment products or advisors that charge you a fee. The choices are endless.

We believe our firm offers a refreshing option.

  • We are a "fee-only" investment management firm, offering advice not influenced by commissioned investment products (ie loaded mutual funds, annuities)
  • The client's assets are held at a discount broker to save the client money.
  • We are a small firm offering personalized investment advice.
  • We take the time to educate our clients so they are informed about their finances.
  • We have a unique screening system for choosing only the best investments.
  • We offer a wide choice of investments for our clients.
  • We contact our clients on a regular basis to keep them informed on the progress of their accounts.

What Makes Us Different?

We are compensated exclusively by fees paid by our clients which allows us to work in our clients’ best interests and solely for them. In other words, we act in a fiduciary capacity when advising our clients. Many financial advisors receive the majority of their compensation (commissions) from the investment products they recommend. Often there are hidden commissions and compensation fees that are not made transparent to the client. Other firms work as a fiduciary for their client only part of the time but then collect a commission when they recommend an investment product such as an annuity. These advisors call themselves fee-based, attempting to confuse the client into thinking they are fee-only. Usually, in both of these situations, the individuals that represent these firms have an incentive to recommend high cost products, such as whole life and/or universal life insurance, variable annuities, and A, B, & C shares of mutual funds.

The second major way in which we differ from our competitors is that we work as a team for our clients, providing personal attention every step of the way. In most firms, each advisor has his or her own set of clients. While any two advisors in the same firm may operate in a somewhat similar manner, clients almost always receive two different levels of service as well as quality of advice. Our advisors work closely as a team to deliver a coordinated approach so that our clients are counseled in the same manner and receive the same innovative level of advice and hands-on, courteous service. Each of our advisors specializes in a different area and works on the clients’ behalf in a concerted manner thereby ensuring quality advice and consistent customer service. Our job is to take over the client's time-consuming task of managing their affairs between multiple advisors both internal and external to us. We are always eager to work with a client’s existing advisors to recommend strategies that address our client’s needs. Should a client need an advisor in a particular area that requires expertise that we do not provide, such as drawing up a will or consulting a certified public accountant, we will recommend a prescreened professional who can assist in this area.

We further differ from our competitors in that we create customized solutions for our clients. One simple example is that often our clients come to us with investments that have a low cost basis. At many of our competitor’s firms, they would simply sell the asset and fit the proceeds into their investment offering. Our advisors, instead, will initially complete a comprehensive analysis of all securities as well as their tax ramifications. We then would discuss the findings with our client and develop a strategy. If a particular security no longer fits the portfolio, a plan of attack would be developed to liquidate it. Typically, securities with a low cost basis would be whittled down over time, utilizing losses from other securities.

Not only do we have a number of investment management offerings that can be tailored to each client’s needs, we are continually on the lookout for new investment strategies that we can offer to our clients.

Experience

We have over 20 years of combined experience helping individuals, families, and small businesses plan for their financial needs. Having lived many "financial lives" we know what works and what doesn't. Experience is priceless in a financial arena dominated by investors and advisors who have never seen a recession or a "bear" market.

Expertise

Our team works together to help their clients reach their financial goals. Our fee-only financial advisors actively manage client's accounts with continual transparency and open communication and work to maximize performance and minimize our lients' exposure to risk.

Independence

We are not owned by a bank, a brokerage firm, or insurance company. We are independent and as an independent advisory firm, we are able to utilize a multitude of investment offerings by working with large financial services companies throughout the world.  Unlike many financial advisors, we can utilize both no-load and load-waived investments for our clients, meaning that we can paint from a very broad investment palette to meet our clients' needs. We utilize Institutional Class shares, which offer extremely low expense ratios, for even our clients of moderate means.

Our business is like a family business

Our mission is to care about our clients’ goals as if they were our own. We are a small firm partnered with some of the biggest and strongest financial services companies in the industry. We believe that with us you get the best of both worlds: financial strength and individual, personal attention. Our firm offers the antithesis of the cold mega-merged financial services companies building long-term relationships with our clients.

Why should you choose our services?

Making the financial decisions necessary to achieve your goals takes knowledge and commitment. It takes the kind of expertise, individualized attention, integrity and objectivity that we offer.

We look at each client as an individual who has personal goals as well as financial goals. Our services are designed to suit each individual, without compromise.

We do much more than provide financial advice. We give you a plan and the tools to build your financial success. From investment management to tax, estate, education and retirement planning, we provide expert guidance and up-to-date solutions. We offer you options and the knowledge you'll need to make informed decisions about your future.
